To be completely honest, I never used to really think about my socks.

They just weren't a big part of my life! When I worked from home, I always had the option to take my socks off if they got sweaty or uncomfortable. Slippers were in easy reach if I wanted warm feet without restriction.

But since starting a full-time job, socks have become incredibly important to me. I'm literally on my feet all day, and if I don't grab good socks, I always regret it. Gods help me if one slides down the back of my ankle over and over all day.

Which means that I do need a sock with at least a bit of elastic. With socks, it's always going to be a trade off between durable synthetics and looser natural fibers. It’s just a balance of what you need.

Which is honestly why I love the socks that Allwear sent me to try. They're so lightweight they feel like they're barely there, and the 5% of BPA-free elastic keeps them snug in place all day.

We've organized our favorite socks into two categories: plant-based and wool. Like always, the brands with the lowest amount of synthetics are at the top.

(Have you tried any of these brands? Do you have a favorite material? Any brands we’re missing? Let us know in the comments!)
